Looking Back | Pussy & Pooch DTLA Turns FIVE!
We are feeling all sorts of nostalgic as we reflect on our Five Year Anniversary this week. Five years ago this week, Pussy & Pooch was launching into uncharted territory in Downtown Los Angeles, aiming to be THE Ultimate Pet Destination, an Urban Oasis for Modern Pets and their People. Long-time DTLA residents/workers with cats and dogs, we saw the opportunity to create an amenity for the rapidly growing neighborhood in the Historic Core, trading our professional careers for an amenity we greatly appreciated for ourselves, our neighbors, and our friends. We wanted to create something colorful, edgy, playful, unique, and welcoming to delight and wow the DTLA community. Our little bright idea that was 2+ years in the making, quickly became a HUGE deal for all of us as we created immediate impact with our pet lifestyle concept, both in our neighborhood and within the pet industry, spotlighting DTLA as an uber pet-friendly locale.
We have been very fortunate to have the support of so many wonderful animal-loving pet owners (YOU!) and their dogs, cats, rabbits, birds, iguanas, and pigs - we have built countless relationships with a truly diverse clientele, two-and-four-legged and have loved every minute of it! We are proud to have shared so much with our local artists, animal welfare groups, community action groups, students, and other local businesses and community partners. We are all in this together, right?. We are excited for the what the next five years and beyond brings for P&P, as we continue to help pet owners provide the very best care and lifestyle for their pets with quality products/services focused on pet health and wellness, style and function, and of course, FUN!!
Stay tuned for more posts this week as we take a walk down memory lane with some of our most fav moments from five years ago. Have a great story, old photo, or memory about P&P you want to share? We want to hear it! Post it here on the Hydrant or on our Facebook page.

I'm famous for saying how during those first few weeks once we were open, I would repeatedly drive around the block to look at the store in the evening and smile at how beautiful it was, gleaming in all of its lime glory... and very proud of our accomplishment. -- Janene
