To address the issue of over-vaccination in dogs, Dr. Patrick Mahaney of California Pet Acupuncture and Wellness (CPAW), Inc. is teaming with Spectrum Laboratories to provide a Distemper, Adenovirus, and Parvovirus antibody titer clinic using VacciCheck.

- Should you provide your healthy, adult dog with a Distemper combination (DA2PP) vaccine when you get the card in the mail that a booster vaccination is due?

- Has the Distemper combination vaccination series your puppy received from the breeder or your veterinarian created a protective antibody response?

- Should your senior dog that has been regularly vaccinated for DA2PP throughout his life receive further immunizations?

Such are common questions facing dog owners these days.  Many dogs receive booster vaccinations despite having sufficient immunity.  Mild to life-threatening health problems can potentially arise in dogs receiving vaccinations that their bodies don’t need or those having ailments that make them less-ideal candidates for vaccination.

Only a small blood draw is required to yield a crucial piece of information about your dog’s immune status.

This will be a wellness-only clinic for antibody titer testing.  Dr. Mahaney will not be performing consultations on current canine health problems during this clinic.

Please sign up head of time and arrive 15 minutes early to complete minor administrative paperwork.  Dr. Mahaney will email your dog’s results directly to you for your personal record keeping.
